Alessandra Cardinale is a freelance journalist currently based in New York. She was born in Rome, Italy, holds a degree in law, with a specialty in international law from Luiss University, and did her dissertation on John Rawls, followed by a masters degree in journalism from the “Ilaria Alpi school of journalism” in Bologna. After several internships (Sky Tv, Radio Capital and Ansa Washington D.C.) she took a position in 2006 as an assistant producer in the Rome bureau of CNN. Since 2007, she has been working out of the press office for the current Democratic Party in Italy. Her articles have appeared in such publications as Anna, Europa, Il Fatto Quotidiano, Il Riformista, L’Espresso, ResetDoc, Vanity Fair. She is currently working on a photographic project in Congo with an Italian NGO on child soldiers.
